A Proud Performance

Town goal in 43 seconds sets up easy win
Hanwell travelled to Northolt to play a Larkspur side whom the week before had beaten Brunswick FC who beat HTYFC 12-3.
The worries and concerns were soon forgotten with the first shot on goal from Che Regis on 10 seconds and then the first goal on 43 seconds again from a Che shot after good play from George Powell.
It didn’t take long for the second HTYFC goal to calm the nerves on 8 minutes, this time from a quick thinking George whose throw-in found Che who beat 2 players before finding Rene Barnes who made it 0-2.
The game then settled down with Hanwell in control; the defence stopping any Larkspur fret, the midfield playing nice combinations through to the attack especially the overlaps on the left side and including the brilliant back heal by Ibrahim to Ali Calim.
It took until the 28th minute for HTYFC to extend their lead when Patrick Przybysz fine pass put Ibrahim Al-Libawi through to score his first goal of the season.
With the score now 0-3 HTYFC relaxed and let Larkspur back into the match with a few shots finding their way towards the stand-in keeper Jack Maiden who made a couple of great saves but was finally beaten with a thunderbolt of a shot which happened to be the last kick of the first half.
HT = 1-3
HTYFC players told the next goal was important; so to concentrate and play more down the wings/overlapping, plus with now playing downhill to keep the ball more and test the fitness of the Larkspur players.
The second half didn’t start well for HTYFC with an Own Goal 8 minutes in making it 2-3 and so giving Larkspur some belief that they could get a result.
Larkspur hopes were short lived because straight from the HTYFC kick-off after great linking play down the right wing between Jorge Bishop, Adam Bello, Che and Ibrahim who finished the move off with a lovely lob type strike.
Six minutes later Ibrahim got his hat-trick; after a super box to box run by Patrick who beat 4 players en-route before passing to Ibrahim who again hit a great long range drilled shot giving the unsighted keeper no chance.
With the match now back in Hanwell’s control and dominating the play throughout the pitch with 15 minutes left to play a Hanwell mistake meant Larkspur were awarded a penalty but they found Jack had bags of confidence and saved the spot kick with ease.
Oliver Heyes wrapped up the match scoring with a long range looping shot which the keeper couldn’t hold or push clear, 2-6.
A very pleasing result and a great team performance putting HTYFC into 2nd in the league, but what made us proud was the comments after the final whistle by the ref and Larkspur coach; both saying that we have a very good footballing team.
MOM = Ibrahim Al-Libawi & Jack Maiden (Also noted that no HTYFC player had a bad game, plus 21 shots on goal)
