Double Done Over Chiswick

Hanwell Hold on for Win
A local derby on a windy day turned out to be another entertaining game of football.
Hanwell got off to a great start and were 1-0 up inside 6 minutes, all starting from Finley Thomas winning the ball in midfield with a header and then Rene Barnes running in on goal beating 4 players on the way to netting his first of the day.
Chiswick drew lead just after HTYFC made some changes to personnel mid-way through the half.
On 30 minutes a wonderfully taken free-kick by Adam Bello struck the bar, but four minutes later Che Regis made it 1-2 with the goal of the match because of the lovely build up play involving Kiran Ladhur, Lewis Scully, Oliver Heyes and then a super pass by George Powell.
HT = 1-2 Hanwell player told to keep focused and keep playing the same good passing football.
The second half was a tougher event with Chiswick looking to attack and even the game up, then 12 minutes in Rene was put through by Kiran for a 1v1 on the Chiswick keeper and Rene won his duel and made the game a bit more comfortable at 1-3.
But Chiswick are the old enemy for a reason and never give up, they kept on attacking and putting pressure on the HTYFC defence winning free-kicks and corners.
It was from a free-kick which saw Lewis receive his and the team’s first yellow card of the season, that Chiswick pulled a goal back to make the last 10 minutes a nervous affair at 2-3.
The most heart stopping moment coming in the last minute when Adam Bello lost the ball in midfield and the ball then put through to the Chiswick winger who had only the advancing Tom Sloley in the Hanwell goal to beat, which he did, but luckily he rushed his shot, blasting over the bar instead of the open goal.
Relieve all round for everyone connected with Hanwell Town at the final whistle.
FT = 2-3 A nice victory and 3 points but made unnecessarily hard by not making more of the 25 shots on goal; a good effort rate but not a good strike rate.
MOM = Rene Barnes
Star Players = Albi Balaj
