Injury hit Town hit holiday blues

Defeat dents title hopes
The school half time and injured players were the feature of this match which would be bad news for HTYFC.
Hanwell Town had 5 players missing from the squad: Bishop, Chancellor & Przybysz all on holiday along with the injured Heyes and the latest injured player Bello plus Powell & Barnes missed training because of illness. Hanwell did have Ted Perrin back after a long injury but it was his first game since the 1st November.
The match didn’t start well for HTYFC who found themselves 0-2 within 10 minutes but two goals from Che Regis restored creditability and looked like taking control especially after the ref yellow carded 4 of the LAFC players just before the break.
Half-time = 2 - 2
The HTYFC players were told don’t get bullied & to be stronger in their challenges and move the ball quicker.
But again the start of the start 2nd half didn’t go well for Hanwell when Tom Sloley couldn’t even make it onto the pitch (unable to walk due to a twisted ankle).
Ted Perrin marked his comeback being between the posts in goal and was playing very well, helping his team get control and take the lead through Che, his hat-trick and assist from Lewis Scully making 3-2 with 15 minutes to go.
This should have been game over and maintaining Hanwell’s unbeaten league to keep them at the top of the table.
The LAFC coach then reminded/shouted to his players that they needed to battle against the team at the top. Three minutes later it was 3-3 after a goalmouth scramble. The goal inspired LAFC especially their coach and the HTYFC players heads dropped.
The next few minutes were end to end with LAFC coming out on top finding the net twice with only 5 minutes left to play.
The final whistle was met with the loud and proud LAFC coach shouting to his players that they just beat the team at the top of the league which he seem happier about than the players. The comment didn’t go down well, causing further derogatory comments by the LAFC players and with the HTYFC players upset at losing 3 points and the possible league tittle it sparked off trouble between the two sets of players. A bad end to a bad game for Hanwell Town.
The end of the match spirit needs to be on show during the game if Hanwell are going to get out of Div 2.
MOM = Che Regis – a good hat-trick performance.
